Worship and Music Ministries
At St. John’s Lutheran church, we offer several opportunities to become involved through the gift of music.
Senior Choir Gary Schillinger, DirectorSenior Choir involves both men and women of high-school age and up that would like to use their voice to help lead in Traditional Worship. This group usually sings about two times a month within the worship services from early September through the end of May. Rehearsal time is 6:30 to 7:30pm Wednesday evenings. If you enjoy using your voice to Praise the Lord this is the group for you!
Women's Choir
This is a 4-part choir that presents traditional songs of praise to accent to the worship services. Women’s choir meets every Wednesday from 7:30 to 8:30pm, and performs about two times a month during Sunday morning services. This group has a great time learning the music and singing praises to God through traditional music
Men's Choir
Marv Streich, Director
Men’s choir is an ensemble involving men of high school age and older. This is a 4-part choir (Tenor 1, Tenor 2, Baritone, Bass), that provides special songs of praise to add to the worship services. Hand Bell Choir
Gary Schillinger, DirectorThe handbell choir participates in worship about one weekend per month playing sacred pieces of music to enhance the worship service. This is an adult handbell ensemble that rehearses Monday evenings from 7:00 to 8:00pm. We also hope to begin another handbell choir for beginners. Stay tuned for more information.
If you are unable to join any of the above groups, but have a love for music, and the desire to participate in the music of St. John’s, please contact the church office. There are always opportunities for soloists, instrumentalists, and ensembles.
