April Showers

Pastor Ryan Clark   -

We’ve all heard the old adage, “April Showers bring May Flowers.”  In Minnesota most years this seems to be true!  When we get to April, we are so longing for spring and warmer temperatures.  And we do warm up a bit, but you still can’t go out because it’s raining!  We have to be patient, trusting that those showers are going to result in beautiful flowers soon!

In our lives, plenty of “rain” falls on each of us.  None of us gets out of this life without trials and tribulations of many kinds.  What do we do when the rain is falling heavily in our lives?

Remember whose you are.  You are the forgiven son/daughter of a super loving and powerful God.

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.” (Isaiah 43:1)

Call on your Father for help.

“Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.” (Psalm 50:15)

Look to the Cross!

“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:32)

Wait patiently for Him.  He’s coming!

“Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of  justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!” (Isaiah 30:18)

When He delivers you, it will be a testimony for you to share with others going through similar trials.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” (2 Corinthians 1: 3-4)

Rain may be falling heavily on you right now.  But God wants to turn your troubles (showers) into a testimony (flowers)!  Better days are ahead as we look to Him!

God bless you,

Pastor Clark
